Tobias Schmidt, Co-founder & CEO
Tobias leads general strategy, sales and finance at wywy, with more than a decade of experience in starting and growing organizations. Tobias knows what it takes to build an organization from scratch to sustainable profitability and exit. A father of three, Tobias has learned that startups are not the only species of babies he truly enjoys to see growing up.
Prior to co-founding wywy, Tobias was founder and CEO of MineWolf Systems, a global leader in humanitarian landmine clearance. He spent his early career in venture capital and investment banking at Atlas Venture and Goldman Sachs.
Tobias holds a master’s degree in business studies from WHU, Otto Beisheim School of Management and a bachelor‘s degree in business from EM Lyon.
Dr. Andreas Schroeter, Co-founder & COO
Andreas leads product, engineering, marketing and human resources at wywy. With more than 10 years experience in the digital world, he understands how to combine both the business and the engineering side to develop truly remarkable products. His passion is to create a great company culture – a fun work environment with an awesome team.
Prior to co-founding wywy, Andreas founded bab.la, a language portal with 30 million unique visitors per month. He started his career at Bertelsmann and then Axel Springer, in roles spanning strategy, M&A and project management.
Andreas holds a master’s and doctorate degree in business studies from WHU, Otto Beisheim School of Management.
Christopher Wendels, Head of Product Development
Driven by a passion to create solutions for complex problems Christopher leverages 7 years technical management experience and delivers simplicity in products that make intuitive sense.
Joining wywy from Google, Christopher wanted to re-focus on products utilizing his expertise in digital advertising strategy. He has managed cross-functional teams in industries ranging from online gaming to education and successfully launched products impacting the experience for hundreds of millions of users.
Christopher holds a sales impact award for product innovation from Google and has co-authored both real time advertising and corporate social media publications. He studied at the WHU, Otto Beisheim School of Managment and Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck before finalizing his Bachelor thesis at the Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law.
